
John Ferrari, CEO
John brings over 20 years of global management experience acquired in the high technology and telecom sectors. John most recently served as President & CEO of Light Port, a leading Software As A Service (SAAS) technology company delivering investor-reporting solutions to the financial services sector. Prior to LightPort, John spent 10 years with Nokia where he held senior leadership roles within their mobile phone, wireless infrastructure, and new ventures organizations. John’s educational background includes the United States Air Force Academy, the University of Massachusetts, and the FW Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. He holds a BS, MBA, and is currently a JD candidate at Stetson University College of Law. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and a Licensed Florida Real Estate Broker.
Steve Ellis, Chief Evangelist
Steve Ellis is co-owner of MyGreenBuildings, a Sarasota based design/build general contracting firm specializing in environmentally responsible home building and light commercial construction. Their completed homes have consistently scored at the highest levels of FGBC and Energy Star Ratings, and their most recently completed waterfront home on Siesta Key is expected to become the highest FGBC scoring home in the State. Prior to cofounding MGB, Steve founded, grew and eventually sold a national environmental waste management consulting business after 12 years of steady growth. The firm services national and international Fortune 500 customers, and has trained hundreds of small business affiliates throughout North America. Steve has a BS in business management and marketing from Salem State College and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
John Lambie, VP, Building Science
John brings to DwellGreen more than 35 years of expertise in the fields of green building, solar energy, and sustainable community development. His accomplishments include the development of the Florida Green Building Coalition’s award for highest performing building in 2008. For 10 years, John was the executive director of the Florida House Institute for Sustainable Development, and was one of the founders of Sarasota’s Florida House project. Prior to this position, he founded and co-directed the precursor to the Florida House Institute, Earth Metabolics Design Laboratory, which applied the principles of Buckminster Fuller’s World Game to southwest Florida. John was also the founding president of Mirasol Solar, offering passive architectural design, solar hot water and photovoltaic systems, water conservation products, edible landscaping and hydroponics. He is a former adjunct professor in Environmental Studies at New College in Sarasota and a LEED Accredited Professional.
Mat Horne, VP, Operations
Mat has over 15 years of sales, marketing and operational experience. Prior to joining DwellGreen, he worked for the medical sales industry, in Fortune 500 business-to-business sales, and for a leading technology firm delivering SAAS based human resource applications. He brings valuable expertise to DwellGreen in the areas of sales, product development, and client/service provider relationships. Mat earned a BS degree from the University of Florida.
Matt Franck, General Manager, GulfCoast Region
Prior to joining DwellGreen, Matthew served as a Project Engineer with an established general contractor. He was responsible for the care, control, and processing of contract drawings, shop drawings, and other technical data. He also oversaw the administrative and technical services in the fields of: scheduling, drafting, surveying, estimating, cost engineering, subcontractor coordination, and general project administration. Matthew’s knowledge helped to insure construction work complied with all engineering standards, codes, and specifications. Matt possesses a strong working knowledge of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, specifications, and materials. At DwellGreen, he helps provide technical engineering information on new green building practices and methods to the team and clients. Matthew has a joint BS from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry and Syracuse University. He is also a LEED Green Associate.
